So your child wants to play hockey? Get a college scholarship? Play in the NHL? All over
North America, players got their start in programs just like the Fresno Junior Hockey Club
(FJHC). Think it can't be done? Right now, there are former FJHC players who are playing
in Division 1 and 3 hockey on full scholarships; and some have even been drafted by the
NHL. There are, also, others playing hockey in the This is where college scouts are looking
to give full scholarships to talented hockey players. Bring your child out and get him hooked
on the sport of hockey. It's better than any toy or video game. The exercise, fun and lifelong
friendships developed in hockey have a value beyond measure.
This is where it all starts. Any child can be taught to play hockey. Whether they just want to
play for fun in our In-House league, play travel hockey or want to push themselves as far as
their abilities will take them. They need to get on the ice at an early age. The Monday night
learn to play hockey session offers extremely competent instructors (directed by Glenn
Heintz, former Fresno Falcon star). The instructors teach children of all ages and abilities
the fundamentals of skating, passing, stick handling and shooting. Once the child has a
grasp on the basics they can move on to in-house, travel and beyond; if they so desire.
No skates, stick, gloves or helmet??? No problem. The FJHC has an equipment stash
available to loan out for the one hour session. Of course, the equipment must be returned at
the end of the session. It is a great way to find out if a child is interested in playing. When
they are interested in furthering their hockey skills, Jay Johnson and his staff at All Pro
Hockey and Sport can suit up any player with the right equipment.
There is no reason to wait any longer. This class is operated year round, even when hockey
season is over. Bring your child out and let him or her, yes her, develop a love for the
coolest sport around.
Cost of the Monday Night Learn to Skate 1 hour class is $15.00.
